It depends on the playback device.  If you have a stand-alone DVD player,
enter the brand and model here .......

and it will tell the compatibility for the player.  I use DVD+R media
because in my burner, it burns at a faster speed than DVD-R media.

Stay with major brand media (except Memorex whih is often a problem)
such as Verbatum, Maxell, TDK, etc.

So if I stick with major brands [ex Memorex] I should be okay, right?

Buy media in small quanities when you start so you will know what works.
