blank DVDs [-] or [+] for copying movieDVDs

Question

I am trying to figure out which kind of blank DVDs to buy. [-]  or [+] I have the following drive. it appears to be for both [-] and [+]   IDE\CDROMPHILIPS_DVD +-RW_DVD8631   Which blanks should I buy to burn copies of  movie DVD  [-] or [+]? Any brand preferences?   Your advice will be appreciated Thanks Helena

It depends on the playback device. If you have a stand-alone DVD player,
enter the brand and model here .......

and it will tell the compatibility for the player. I use DVD+R media
because in my burner, it burns at a faster speed than DVD-R media.

Stay with major brand media (except Memorex whih is often a problem)
such as Verbatum, Maxell, TDK, etc.

Buy media in small quanities when you start so you will know what works.
