Have a look here, you may just have to replace the Cmos battery.

Hi i seem to get a lot of dust in my computer i have cleaned it out but cant get it all out from the fan is there any other way to do this i have the dimension 8400 and the other thing is when i start it up i get a bell going off inside and the only way i can start it up is to go into setup f2 and then exit and it will boot into windows ok got xp can anyone help with this. Thanks
What kind of ringing noise is there?

Original posting Differant thread 03/21/06:
The noise i get is a continous beeping noise and the only way i can get into windows is to press f2 into setup and then exit and it will go into windows then.

Ok the beeping noise is an error alarm. clikc the link below and find out which alarm is it for.

Replacing the battery may need to be done but save that as a last resort.  See where the beep codes fall and let us know.
