No do I need to have (re) installed sonic update manager, to make the manual checking? or is this piece of SW just required for automatic check.

I suggest you just periodically check the sonic website for updates.

i got the same problem with my dell notebook and uninstall it. then went to:

anyway i have problem that when i do the instructions at this page,  i didn't see my sonic update manager on my list of programs. what can i do?

Hi Kian,

I am sorry, I don't know the answer.
Maybe you need to do run -> msconfig and see what is in your startup tasks.
if there is (not sure there is) sonic update manager, just uncheck it.
