lights on ethernet port

hi there,
 
i have just noticed at the back of my dimension 9150 on the ethernet in port i have 2 lights 1 orange at the bottom and 1 yellow that flickers on and off, what are these lights for?
 
Please advise,

Hi,

One steady light shows the card is connected to the network or your ADSL router / modem.

The other normally flashing will show data trasfer.

Normal basic status and condition indicators, nothing to worry about.

Just a bit more detail from the Dell docs:


Link integrity light (on integrated network adapter)

green light — A good connection exists between a 10-Mbps network and the computer.

orange light — A good connection exists between a 100-Mbps network and the computer.

off (no light) — The computer is not detecting a physical connection to the network.


Activity light (on integrated network adapter)

yellow light — Blinking indicates activity on the network.
