A couple weeks ago, I noticed that when I have a CD or DVD in my Drive, and the computer is actively accessing it, all audio and video (to a lesser extent) becomes stuttered, skipping an eigth of a second every second or so. Video plays more seamlessly, though something does appear to be wierd about it. As soon as the CD or DVD is left alone (ie. all programs actively using it are closed) then audio and video stored on the Hardrive or off the internet plays normally. When the drive is being accessed, ALL audio and video is effected, be it from CD, DVD, Harddrive, Flash Drive, or Internet. My CD/DVD drive is a: TSSTCorp DVD+-RW TS-L632D I bought the machine in early August, 2006. Audio card: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC I've heard something about changing the Current Transfer Mode of the Secondary IDE Channel from PIO to DMA. And tired it, and don't think it worked. It might after I restart my computer, but I'm working right now. If it starts working, I'll let you know... Any other suggestions though? I've also heard that I need to have the drive replaced, but I really don't want to have to send in my laptop because of the frequency with which I use it (every day). Thank you, Morgan Dumitru

I looked in the Primary IDE Channel (of which i have two for some reason..??..) and found that even though the Transfer mode was set to 'DMA if available' the Current Transfer Mode was set to 'PIA Only'. So I uninstalled the port, rebooted, and reset it and now it's fine. And as I'd hoped, this also seems to have corrected the slow burn speed I was experiencing which previously was around 0.75x but now gets up to the 8x speed that it should burn at.

Same problem over here

The Drive is not getting detected at all and no drivers anywhere for this TSST TS-L632D

I am helpless

Error msg "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
