Hi Miss Noelle,

If you would please list the name/model of your drives, someone can check the User guide and see what the drive supports.
Go to Device Manager:

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:
• Click Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc.
• Right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then click Device Manager.
• Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
then click the "+" next to DVD\CD-ROM drives, the name/model should be listed there.

Best Regards!

Edit: I am going to be logged off for awhile, if you check back and have the information available; at the top right corner of this page, enter the name of the drive in the serch box "Keyword Search", you should find documentation on your drive. If you indeed have a DVD+/-RW drive, the 1x-8x media should work fine.

God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell the
difference.

Thanx for your fast reply.

Thank you!!!

Yes indeed, it is a SM-352F!

Sorry about that!

So it means that there is no way that I can copy a play that is on my computer to a DVD anyway?

Hope I'm not right about this!

Thanx!

Since Predator is off-line at this time; I am unable to locate a Samsung SM-353F.  Could it be a
SM-352F?  If so, it is a CDRW/DVD (Combo) drive.  That means it will read CD and DVD media, but
it will only write to CD media.  It cannot write to DVD media.  So, if it is a SM-352F drive,
return the Philips media for a refund.  User's Guide is here for the SM-352F ..........

Don't give up yet, Miss Noelle!  There is a way to create a disk on your CD-RW drive that will play on a DVD player such as the one in a computer or a stand-alone model normally found next to your television.  But, you need the right software to do it.  For instance, with my copy of Nero 6 Ultra I can burn a disk known as a VCD disk.  You are still limited to a maximum size of about 650 MB because you are writing to a CD and not a DVD blank disk.

If you have a copy of Roxio Easy CD Creator, or other such burning software, it may have this capability to burn VCD disks.
