Hi Tpat,

A number of Members received the same message about the patch but were able to go ahead and apply it and it worked for them.
If you cannot apply the patch, then try the K-Lite codec pack I ha ve listed in Section 7-5, article 15. If the drive works now the issue was more than likely the Cineplayer bug; if not, then we need to trouble shoot some more.

Merry Christmas !

Jeff:
I installed the K-Lite codec and the drive is still not reading DVD's.
BTW, here is some troubleshooting info:
NEC Drive Firmware Version: 104C
Sonic DigitalMedia LE v7 Build 2.0.99a
CinePlayer is not installed (i must pay to upgrade)
I have VLC installed
When I close the Sonic DigitalMedia Suite, I receive the following Visual C++ Runtime Error:
"Program: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared\Sonic Central\Main\Mediahub.exe
R6025
-pure virtual function call"

Hi TPAT,

I got your PM, sorry for missing your reply.
One of our Regulars, a pretty young lady, Korrson posted the following link related to your mediahub error. See if anything here will help.

Thanks Jeff:

After reading through the thread on the Roxio community, it seems though most of the users problems arose as a result of upgrading to WMP 11.  I have had this problem even before with WMP 10.  Also, I can't install the PX Engine Update as instructed as I have since uninstalled Sonic Digital Media Plus and have no means of re-installing it (it is not on the Resource CD from DELL).

Should I:
1. Run RegClean to remove any remnants of Sonic?
2. Contact Dell about obtaining the Sonic software CD?
3. Re-Install K-Lite?
4. Re-Install VLC?
5. All of the Above?
6. None of the Above?
