System Blue Screens on Win RAID Install

Question

HI,   Trying to install a new XP install from my DELL O/S disk onto a new two disk RAID0 (stripe) array on a Dimension 9200. The BIOS is set to boot as a RAID, I have configured the two disks as a RAID0 array in the boot up config utiity, and the array is set as a boot option in the BIOS.   The system identifies both disks as being part of the RAID array and continues to boot from the CD, and starts the install process of loading the necessary drivers. I then get the message that it is starting windows, screen goes black temporarily (which is normal) and then i get a blue screen.   I have tried differnet disks, and I know that they are working as the system will successfuly install on each individual disk.   Anybody got any ideas why the system is failing to start windows with a RAID array configured?   Thanks

Try the install without the floppies, see if the OS CD you have has the drivers 'Slipstreamed'   If that is a no go, then contact tech support.

Sorry, but what do you mean by the drivers being 'slipstreamed' ?

Interesting thread, but it's aimed more at people trying to install Vista on a system that already has XP installed on it. What i am having problems with is trying to do a clean install of XP on a blank system.   Still looking for an answer to this.
