If nothing there helps, since you have the CD for PowerDVD v.5.3, go ahead and uninstall and reinstall PowerDVD, this may help.
Best Regards!

Thank you for your suggestions. I would like to try the link first, before uninstalling the Cyberlink DVD Launcher. However, I cannot get the link to work; any hints on why that won't work?
I clicked the link and it is working for me. I even edited the post and re-entered the coding to make sure. The link unfortuantely is slow and I got a few hits for "Cookies" but I declined them and the page still loaded. The thread is rather long so I cannot really copy & paste it here. Please try again, sorry...
Best Regards!

I tried the link this morning (I'm in France) and it worked just fine. Thank you. I read through the info and it is apparent that others have had the same problem. I'm confused though, because I don't have ehtray in my msconfig\start. Also, I do have Windows Media Center 11.0 installed on my Dell. I currently have the DVD Launcher unchecked in start and my screen saver works, but only for one minute. I had the power management setting at one minute when I was doing all of isolating of issues in msconfig, but once I found the problem to be DVD Launcher, I set the screen saver to 15 minutes, but it shuts off at one minute. This isn't a major issue to me, but I'd like for it work according to the settings.
Silly question, but since I have Windows Media Center on my Dell, why do I need Cyberlink program if all I want to do is basic things, and if I uninstall the Cyberlink, will the WMC program still work? Of, if I upgraded the Cyberlink, is that likely to fix my issues? I didn't have any of these problems until I installed the MSFT comfort keyboard and new mouse.
WMC requires third party codecs in order to play DVD, they get them from a program such as Cineplayer, PowerDVD, etc... I wish I felt confident enough to say "yes, reinstalling PowerDVD will fix your problem" unfortunately I cannot. Another question, have you tried uninstalling / reinstalling the software for keyboard & mouse you installed, checked for updates/patches from the vendors site, or go back to the equipment you orginaly had, does the problem go away?
Best Regards!

I've been trying many things but nothing has corrected my problem. I've been in touch with Cyberlink and they suggested that I uninstall the OEM version of Power DVD that came preinstalled on my Dell. They sent me a link to a OEM version; I've installed that and nothing is corrected. Also, I've uninstalled the kb and reinstalled it, but that doesn't solve the problem. The monitor kicks in at one minute no matter what it is set at. Any more suggestions?
