If you installed the OS as E, then you cannot change it, unless you reinstall windows and be sure it installs as C.

The only way, to change the assigned letter of the primary boot volume, is to reinstall XP.

Thank you all, for the info, I think I will just live with my hard drive being E: rather than go through the hassle of reinstalling XP
