First, try simply reseating the drive by taking it out of the system and putting it back in. If you need help removing the drive just look at the online tear down for the 6000.

 

If that doesn't work you may want to try something along the lines of a system restore and see if it helps. Just pick a date when you know the DVD drive was working.

 

If you get no results with that try removing the upper and lower filters.

 

If you still have no luck with the drive it may need to be replaced.
