I tried "Alt + F" to reset to the default config, and only the hard drvie is being detected , I also tried;

  • Cap lock + scrol lock + num lock the Alt + E
  • New IDE cable
  • New Optical disk, I even tried putting one drive connected at a time and still nothing
  • In the bios I have Primary master, Secondary master, and secondary slave enable, and under Secondary master and Secondary slave it says unknow device
  • I also noticed that the system is not deteced the USB ports onboard and the ones in front.

Lastly the bios version is A07, is there a newer version out there and if so, do you think if I upgrade the bios it might allow it to detec the settings?

I updated the bios to version 12, did the Alt + f2, and Alt + b, after the boot it configure all the IDE devices and now I am working fine, hope it stays this way :) thanks for your help. After doing a few search I realize this forum has a lot of useful info, keep up the good work everyone one.

P.S The only problem I am still having is the network card, now I loaded up the dell drivers, and the Intel drivers for the on board card, I even put an extra pci card on before I did the reinstall but the system is not picture up the pci card, and it is said the network card is unplugged for the on board card but it is not
