do you get the one-off boot menu if you press f12 at startup?

Nope! One time I was able to get into Setup using F2. Another 20-50 tries were unsuccessful. I tried F12 at least 5-10 times with no Setup menu. I was going to try flashing the Bios but the install is too large for a floppy disk.
