Instructions for logical partition on Dell T3400 SAS 6/iR XPx64?

G'day, Here's hoping someone can walk me thru the logical partition process on a new Precision T3400 that I ordered with XPx64, a 15k 300GB SAS HDD, and 6/iR controller. I'm accustomed to using Partition Magic, but it does not run on XPx64. Trying Disk Management, the help info instructs me to make a new partition on unallocated free space. However, the primary partition uses all the space, so there is none leftover. I don't find how to stumble my way forward on this.  Thanks -

Check out Acronis' Disk Director. It supports XP x64 (check the data sheet link).

Hello,

I'll buy Acronis' Disk Director if it works for my situation. I tested the Demo and didn't get it to work.

I just want to make a logical partition, and tried to use DD demo to make the minimal 1-cylinder to test. The program appreared to run, rebooted and appears to run the partitioning at restart. But when I look under Disk Management, there is no new partition.

I just want a logical partition to cleanly separate data files from program files. Thanks.

(System: Dell T3400, XPx64, single unpartitioned 300GB SAS, controller 6/iR.)
