Well that seems to have fix the problem. I still have to verify the software for burning cd dvd is working.
I just noticed also that the digital media was also not present and they are now being displayed in My Computer. Thanks for the assistance youv'e been a great help. Keep up the good work.

Look in the Device Manager .............
Click on the (+) next to DVD/CD-ROM drives. Right-click the drive and select
Properties. Is there an Error Code (number)?

windows cannot load the device drivers for this hardware. The driver may be corrupt or missing (Code 39)
