Thanks for the reply Bev, but if you look closely to the Best Buy link you provided, after the 14 day period, the manufacturers warranty by Dell is what covers the unit. As a partial aside, inside the Dell box is a lengthy owners manual describing the Dell warranty in detail and no where is it listed that if purchased at a retailer does that retailer assume responsibility.
No matter what the Dell reps state, they are supposed to cover any warranty work on their products. This is also why New York State has recently sued Dell because they are not honoring their responsibility. Dell wants Best Buy customers to return their product to a Best Buy repair facility, but Dell in fact reimburses Best Buy for the cost of repairs.
I'm sorry, I don't read the document the same as you, it would seem that Dell is responsible for 'basic technical support' whatever that means!
Buying a Dell computer from BestBuy seems to leave the warranty a 'murky' grey area and the consumer suffers.
I wish you luck and sincerely hope that you resolve your problems soon.
Bev.

For any Dell computers purchased at BestBuy, Dell is not responsible for either the warranty or repairs, BestBuy is. :(
See here and here.
