I've had my HD replaced twice in 3 years on our 8100 , both times under warrenty
a tech replaced it the 1st time & I replaced it the 2nd time
But in both cases I had to reinstall software myself
However, it wouldn't hurt to ask
Don't know which OS you have ,but upon the 2nd HD install I took the opporunity
to do a clean install of Win. XP upgrading from Win. ME
have fun

Save all your data you have to disk because they won't. As for your software you will be putting it back on also. Dell just installs the hard drive. That what I went threw.
