Do you mean it isn't recognized in Windows explorer? If you haven't done so already, you need to initialize and partition it in Disk Management first. Then it will show up in Windows Explorer.
i keep getting error message at every boot saying alert! card cage fan failure hit f1 to continue or f2 for setup utility. is there a way to get that from coming up
Check the card cage fan to see if it is operating. Maybe it has failed or become unplugged. If it failed, you'll need to replace it to stop the message.
