Is it the HDD? (Inspiron 1525)

Hi there,   One small pc speaker fell onto the keypad of my Dell laptop. Moments later I heard a clicking sound like something switching off. Shortly after that my compouter froze with only the mouse moving.I shut down the computer and started it up again. Windows loaded but only briefly and then locked-up again.I tried starting up Windows with the repair feature but it would just hang at the timer, and now Windows will not load up at all.   I ran the dell diagnostic test; all other hardware came up fine, a custom hard drive test revealed everything was ok with the SMART test, however there were errors with the read test and the self-test.   Before I pay out for a new HDD can anyone tell me if could be anything else?   Also I don't suppose Dell will replace the HDD for free either?   Many thanks.

Re-run the test and record the errors.  Then call Dell - the warranty will cover the repair and replacement. Yes, it sounds like your hard drive is toast.'
