Nobody from dell here to answer your questions, this is just a user-to-user forum. If you want dell's definitive answer to your question, you have to email or call tech support.
If you want my opinion (and even if you don't :smileyhappy:), yes, your computer will work perfectly fine with a 7200 RPM drive.
Yes, the second hard drive slot may not be useable without additional hardware which you will get only when you order the computer with 2 hard drives. But search around in these forums because some people have been successful at buying the needed hardware separately from dell spare parts.
Even if you need to replace the original HDD with a new one, don't waste it. Mount it in an external USB enclosure and use it as a backup hard drive (for nightly backups, for example).

120 mins on Dell Hotline to get some infos!
the aluminum castle and interface will not be delivered without a new HDD. If you want a second HDD you have to order a second HDD!
1. Order your second HDD with 5200 u/min
2. drop the 5200 u/min out
3. use your 7200 u/min
and now you can drop your 5200 into waste. Not the prefered solution.
;(
