Beep codes for optiplex 755 need help on identifying what is wrong.
Hi All,
I need to identify the part that is not working on the computer i have.
The led light in the front says 1 green solid no blinking.
and the beep codes are 1 beep pause 3 beeps pause 2 beeps.....
I have looked it up but i am not entirely sure of what is really wrong so i need some advice.

The beep code of 1-3-2 is
1-3-1 through 2-4-4 Memory not being properly identified or used
I would suggest you remove all your memory sticks. Place one stick into Slot #1 on the motherboard and see if the system will boot. Try this with each stick individually
If it passes with all sticks try placeing them all back in and test again

My Buddy and I who are working on this tried what was in the post but we got the same results, i was wondering if am misunderstading the codes now...

Well it could be that the motherboard is bad in that case.
With no ram at all in the system it should give this beep code. If you tried all the sticks one at a time and still get the same error code it means either all the ram went or the motherboard has an issue

I recently had this problem and got the results above. The owner of the computer had swapped out the correct memory chips and inserted chips that were not supported (they were PC-4200). I checked Kingston's site, found the correct memory chips and got the machine working again.

Beep Codes
Your computer might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the monitor cannot display errors or problems. This series of beeps, called a beep code, identifies a problem. For example, beep code 1-3-1 (one possible beep code) consists of one beep, a burst of three beeps, and then one beep. This beep code tells you that the computer encountered a memory problem.
Reseating the memory modules may correct the following beep code errors. If the problem persists, contact Dell (see Contacting Dell) for instructions on obtaining technical assistance.

Power off, unplug
Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
Reinstall all RAM modules
Remove motherboard battery and press/hold power button for ~30 sec
Reinstall the battery (right-side-up!) and see if it boots now
If it still won't boot, repeat what Dave suggested by testing each stick alone in slot 1, but this time do the "battery thing" after you remove and swap the modules into slot 1. This will ensure that BIOS recognizes the hardware changes before it attempts to boot.
And if none of them work in slot 1, your motherboard probably failed...

Exactly what PC model?
1-3-2 means there's a RAM (memory) error. Try this:
(Check service manual for your model for details on removing / installing RAM).
Hopefully that solves the problem...
