Hard Drive upgrade for Lattitude D600 question

Question

My orginal 40 GB Fujitisu HDD has a bad block. Failed diagnostic tests as well . I decided to buy a new Hard drive for my Latitude D600 from Dell. I was wondering if the 160GB WD hard drive will work? Dell said it was compatible Luckily I flashed the BIOS a couple of months before Hard drive failure. So will it work?  thanks

It won't be recognized by the BIOS at full capacity - the BIOS is limited to 120G.
