Inspiron 530s, Logitech z-5500, realtek hd 7.1

I have a new Inspiron 530s, with a realtek 7.1 don't know which model and logitech z-5500, when I test the  speakers with the realtek audio hardware program, I get only 2 channels working. I plug in the back of my Inspiron the wire correctly and no success. What could be the problem Realtk is not compatible with the speakers, Realtek is not a good sound card. Is anyone experience the same problem?

It's the second time I haven't made enough research. I bought a Inspiron 1720 with the software Integrated Sound Blaster®Audigy™ HD Software Edition (Which I tought it was a 7.1 sound card). Now if the realtek ALC888 is not a sound card is there a sound card 7.1 that fit in this small case inspiron 530s?

... is there a sound card 7.1 that fit in this small case inspiron 530s?

Assuming you have a free PCI or PCI-E slot, you can fit any soundcard currently available.

It's difficult to suggest specific cards worth considering, because that depends on:

a.  Your budget?

b.  What you want to use the card for - i.e. just general sound, or for listening to music/gaming?

But given that you're using a set of beefy Logitech Z-5500's (as I do myself on my gaming PC), I suspect it's more likely to be the latter?

And for that reason, I'd suggest it would be worthwhile getting a decent soundcard, to get the best from the speakers :emotion-55:

But of course the better soundcards (i.e. Asus Xonar D2 (PCI)/D2X (PCI-E), Auzentech X-Fi Prelude/X-Plosion Cinema, Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer/Xtreme Music etc) are more expensive, so you'll have to weigh up the cost vs card features/what you'll use it for.

The Inspiron 530s case is to small to receive a sound card It's the second time they suggest that my speakers would work but it doesn't. Should I change my inspiron 530s for a bigger case like the inspiron 530.
