Printer 924 Cartridge Error 1203

Hello,

I have a Dell 924 printer, which I have had for a while.  I recently purchased new print cartridges for it from Dell itself and had only been using them (with little printing) for about a month.  Then in the middle of a print the error #1203 popped up on the screen saying there was a "Cartridge Error".  I followed the manual instructions to fix the problem to no avail, and now find myself out of options.  Does anyone know what I could possibly do to fix it and get the error to stop?

Thanks.

Error 1203 is a very interesting error code. Here is what I found out about error 1203

It's mean your catridges overflow even from brand new catridges after a several prints or right after you refilled the catridges. Check to see if ink are smeared on the holder where the contact panel with the catridge. I have the same problem which I think lexmark have a proble and overlook.

Solution:
I use the klennex with a few drops of water to dampen and clean off those contact on the holder and my printer work again.
The refill ink work very well if you let it sit 24 hrs. Then before you print anything, you should run aligned the catridges a couple times then run clean catridges a couple times.
Print the test page to see how it's look and way you go.
Be sure not to leave any debris of klennex on those holder contact panel.

I just resolved this issue for a customer by using the following steps.

1. Boil some water and pour into a low bowl

2. place the cartridge in the water  with the jets fully submerged

3. cover the bowl and leave until the ink starts to flow freely from the jets.

4. remove and dry ink cartridge and place in printer.

5.  The cartridge level should now be displayed.

6. The printer should now print with out error.

I believe this process wil spoil the carttridge by putting the whole cartridge in water?

If these ink cartridges are new, then take them to the place of purchase for a refund or replacements. If they're old, then try purchasing a new Dell Series 5 ink cartridge.

Thank you for your reply.

Exchanged Cartridge at Staples was informed that this is Dell issue and would be the last exchange. Please note Dell Series 5 also has the XL version of the 5 Series cartridge now.  Clean all the Jets, and connecting points did the boiling water and still have the incorrect cartridge error yellow light flashing. Is it the All in One Printer 962, or can I perform a new operation .... I hate to procure another printer for a carteridge error?
