DVD drive problem

Question

Hi, my ,HL-DT-ST DVD +/- RW GSA-H73N, is not functioning properly~ Sympthom : it can play VCD but not DVD ~~~~~~whenever i insert a DVD and decided to run the program in the disc the driver will prompt me to insert a disc~~ Somebody pls help me~~~ YOUR help is greatly appreciated!! (By the way my unit is still under waranty, if i wanted to replace my driver, Dell will replace my whole unit or that particular part?) pls enlighten me, thx in advance

Hello, Have Dell replace the DVD drive. Dell will replace the DVD only, not the whole system.

hi, i have the same problem with my xps m1530 that i both recently,it reads cds but not dvds.please help me .i waited for this computer so long .thank you all for your futur help!!!!!!!

yes it is ,but the problem is that i baught it from france  and i'm now in morocco i don't know if i can get a support here
