Hard drive problem with Dell XPS 420 system

Question

I have a dell xps 420 with the 640 gb main drive and windows vista 64 bit.  The main drive is a WD drive and it is too small so I bought the WD Caviar black 1Tb drive to add as a secondary drive.  They are both eSATA drives.  The Main Drive is on esta 0 on the cpu and the second drive is attached to the esta 1 location on the cpu.   Now I notice that every hour or so my computer will freeze for about 5 seconds and make a buzzing sound.  Everything I am doing pauses, mouse, screen everythign and the speakers buzz.  Then it stop and life goes on normally.   They only thing I can think is that the new HD is affecting this as I only encountered this problem when I added the 2nd drive.   Does anyone know what I can do to help troubleshoot and solve this problem?   Thank you!

Hi, Lazarus: Please go get Process Explorer. Run that program in the background and when you get a freeze, you should be able to tell which process or program is causing things to freeze.
