It should start automatically if you reboot with the disk in the drive. If it doesn't, you can reboot with the dvd in the drive and press F12 at the very first screen to access the boot menu. You cannot use your vista basic key for your vista ultimate install. It has to have its own key that comes with the ultimate disk or it will not activate. I don't know if you can do a parallel installation with vista. I'm not sure what you mean by that. Dual Boot? Why would you want to do that?

This problem has been solved in the other thread you created about it, in a different forums section!

Which is specifically why it's not a good idea to have consecutive threads going on the same subject.

Not only are those who reply in this one wasting their time :emotion-43:

But more importantly, you could end up missing the reply which solves the problem in one or the other!

So please don't start two separate threads on the same subject again, if you need advice again in the future.

Thank you so much Mary. I do this is according to the instruction from a Microsoft profesional. Because I "miss key in my Product Key'?so could not upgrade it; therefore, she told me to parallel install it. Right now I cannot know whether it's successful or not. Because I got two Home Basic system but no Ultimate system showed. The result is under the professional's evaluation. The Ultimate is provided by MS for free so has a unlicensed key only.
