Dell Vostro 410 - standby turns off keyboard; hibernate turns off printer

I've been having a recent problem when I leave my computer and come back.  First it was turning itself off.  Then it was turning the printer off.  Third it decided to turn the keyboard off.  Rebooting would usually solve the problem.  I discovered that if I changed the Hibernate command under Power Options to Never that the printer would work.  I also changed the Standby command to Never and now the keyboard works.  It stopped turning itself off and I'm not sure what I did to solve this problem.

My question is:  Should I just leave them at "Never" or is there a patch or some other fix so I can put it back to a time when it should Hibernate and Standby?  I assume if it is not hibernating or standing by it is using extra power.  I really don't know much about this.  Is there someone out there who does?  THANKS!

Lotusbeam,

I leave them all on never. I turn my monitor off when I walk away form the computer and turn my computer off at night.
