I'm sure, that I put the hd into the media bay hd module correctly. I booted windows, it installed the hd drivers, I initialized the drive, then formated it to NTFS. The system is cool when the 2nd hd isn't working. But as soon as it starts doing anything, the system is sluggish and freezes! What did I do wrong here?

When I start up my notebook, the system is much slower before windows starts booting than it used to be -> Bios Prob?
When copying files, it does so very fast first, then stops, fast again, stops, sometimes crashes...

Yeah, I did the quick test and it turned out 0x00 (ok) - I had to swap the floppy and the hd back and forth to do the test, because they share the media bay. Right now I'm doing the advanced test, but I guess it will turn out ok too. Well, a beautiful day ends here in switzerland which I spent at the kitchentable chainsmoking, trying to figure out how to get this ?!*? hd working...
Well, whatdoyouknow, the advanced test ended with a 0x75 error defective hd component! Back to the store then!
bacillus, I want to use this hd for recording (16 tracks 24 bit 96 khz). I will run cubase SX on the internal hd and record the tracks on the 2nd hd. Makes sense?
Thank you all, I will be back and tell you, if the new drive works

Hi bacillus, thanks for your fast reply
Yes, it seems to be running in DMA Mode.
Adding to my problems-list, there are strange beeps and click-noises comming from the hd...
