Hi Mommaz,
The jumper should set to master. It was most likely set to CS in your old Dell. So check that first.
The next place to look is disk management. See if a new drive shows up when you plug it in.

I've tried moving the jumper back and forth with different ideas of why it's not working. It doesn't seem to matter. In Disk Management, it does show up as this:
Disk 2 -Unknown - Not initialized and it has a red arrow pointing down

My only suggestion would be to try a USB port in back.
It may be necessary to put the drive back in the old machine and transfer the files some other way.
