Dell notebooks that can support 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1600 resolution.

Hi,

I and trying to locate which notebook support higher then 1920x1200 resolution to purchase.

I know that there have been a fair amount of people trying to locate the same information to run the Dell U2711 and 3008WFP monitor at native resolution.

There is very little to no information in regards to information on notebook maximum output resolutions for the various ports.

I understand that all current notebook HDMI outputs (and monitor inputs) are maxed at 1920x1200, and most new notebooks do not come with a Dual-Link DVI port.

So, is there a list, or are you (anyone) able to confirm if the below or other notebooks with DisplayPort support higher then 1920x1200 resolution?

Dell notebooks and graphics with DisplayPort:

Alienware:

M11x

            - 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M

M15x

- ATI Radeon HD 5730 1GB GDDR3

- ATI Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5

            - 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M            (Does not support 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1600 resolution)

M17x

            - Single / Dual - 1GB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4870

            - Single 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA  GeForce  GTX 260M

- Dual 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA  GeForce  GTX 260M

- Dual 1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA  GeForce  GTX 280M

Inspiron / Studio

- ATI 1GB Mobility Radeon HD5430

- ATI 1GB Mobility RADEON HD 4670

- ATI 1GB Mobility RADEON HD 560v

Thanks for reading,

 Sam.

The Problem on this list is, that no of this Notebooks have a DualDVI Support, only normal DVI Output. So you need a Notebook with Dockingstation (the Big one, with Display Port). Then you can drive a higher resolution.

So you need a Latitude or Precision Series and if you use the Intel GPU or the Optimus technology, take a look to the Problem in this thread:
