SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME DELL LOST MY LAPTOP!

I'm at my wits end. Dell is the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with, on December 27th Dell sent me a box to send back my laptop since I paid $300 for an extra warranty. I put my laptop in the box then put the return label on the box, sealed it and took it to work with me to put in a drop box. On January 7th I called Dell to check the status of my computer and the guy on the other side of the phone transferred me, then I got transferred 4 more times until finally one guy told me they did not have my laptop at the warehouse and that he would put in an email to a different department to find out the status. It is now January 21st and after talking to countless supervisors and endless employees that could not help or promised a call back and never did, or even one employee that gave me false hope and told me they had my laptop and because of the holidays it was taking much longer for repairs, I was called yesterday by a " resolver"  that not only accused me of lying, laughed in my face, yelled at me, told me I was out of luck, but told me that Dell would not replace my laptop because I was not smart enough to call for a pickup instead of dropping it off at a drop box, now I am left with what? I have all the names of people i have spoken with and all the employee numbers, i do not know how much that will help me, since no one seems to care at that company anyway. I am a college student that relys on my computer to do school work, I live in Pittsburgh and now when we have snow days I have to risk it to drive in the snow and go to the library to do school work because I no longer have my laptop, I don't have money to buy a new laptop as it is I can barely afford my bills working and going to school full time. I don't know what to do. Someone please help me.

This is NOT Dell's problem, as they didn't get the laptop. Did you contact the shipper and ask for confirmation that it was delivered? As Dell said, you should have had it picked up or you should have taken it to a shipper's location. You then would have had a receipt and an easy to trace package.

But, you DO NOT have a tracking number that you would have if you had taken it in, or perhaps copied it from the label.

Packages do get lost and they do get stolen. If a pickup agent steals a package from a drop box, who would know, as you have NO receipt. Most people use drop boxes for letter packages, not expensive items.

EJN63 I have the receipt but not the sticker. This is my second time sending my laptop back to dell and the first time i did the same exact thing. The reciept does not say the tracking number for my box back to dell only the tracking number from them to me, i did not realize this until i needed it. I am now trying to get a hold of dell to provide me with another tracking number or some more information so i can call fedex back and see if i can drive to where they keep their lost packages. Im not so sure why you are being so mean or who you are kirkd but you are not being helpful, just adding to my stress. I posted this for help and ideas, not for someone who has nothing else to do but try and make people's day worse. thank you.

The box comes with a sticker and a receipt with the tracking number on it.  What did you do with the recept?

Dell did not get their laptop because every tracking number they have given me is incorrect. And excuse me but when did secure drop boxes from a multi million dollar company become less secure then someone picking it up? The box was from dell and they can track their own package? and im sorry that i did not want to pay extra money for someone to come pick up my package, i dont know if you read my post but i dont have extra money to spend. and of course i have contacted the shipper and am still talking with them, its hard for them to do something without a valid tracking number. I know i took all the steps that i needed to and I'm not sure what more i could have done, but to say i should have had it picked up? Fedex drop boxes are supposed to be just as secure as them picking it up.
