Please do a search before posting. There are numerous threads with lots of ideas, some of which I'm sure will help you.

Good luck!

Good Morning, Sir,

I did a search before posting this.

I've found the following posts:

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/disk-drives/f/3534/t/19305670.aspx

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/disk-drives/f/3534/t/19291565.aspx

http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/p/19347271/19753298.aspx

None of them has the same drive as mine or a solution to the problem. Some people got their PowerDVD working, some of them not. I belong to the secong group, so that's why I'm asking for a link to download a version of PowerDVD that works.

If you know where I can find it in Dell Support, please let me know.

Thank you very much.

Hello. Thanks for your reply.

The problem is that I've been there before and already downloaded the CyberLink Power DVD DX 8_3 (BD version) 09/25/2009. When I try to install this version I get the message:

Error Code:    -5011 : 0x80040707
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (472)
pAPP:PowerDVD
PVENDOR:My Company Name
PGUID:6811caa0-bf12-11d4-9ea1-0050bae317e1
$11.0.0.28844
@Windows XP Service Pack 1 (7601) BT_OTHER 0.0

This version is SO old...

Is that the only version available on Dell's website? If so, I can't see any other solution but to buy from CyberLink, which is a shame because I've already paid for a PowerDVD DX BD version and Dell has installed the DVD version on my computer.

This problem is not a hardware issue with your drive but a DRM issue with PowerDVD. If you go to My Dell Downloads, you should be able to find the most recent version for your computer.

Try the approach described at the end of this thread.

Thank you for deleting my post. I'll be more careful about "bad words" in the future.

I'll try the version posted on the link you've mentioned above when I get home and if didn't work I'll beg Dell to send me a disc. But for now, I'm just wondering WHY Dell don't just put the lovely thing online already? Why make us ask for installation DVDs? That's pretty odd!

Hope I can find a solution for this problem.

Hopefully they will provide a newer version at some point.

I've tried to install the version mr. TABLARLU posted on that thread you've told me and I got the same error:

Error Code: -5011 : 0x80040707
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (472)
pAPP:PowerDVD
PVENDOR:My Company Name
PGUID:6811caa0-bf12-11d4-9ea1-0050bae317e1
$11.0.0.28844
@Windows XP Service Pack 1 (7601) BT_OTHER 0.0

Does anyone knows another link for the PowerDVD DX BD version?
