problem with the last update
Hello all,
I am having a problem with the Streak - i have just downloaded the last update, everything was good, the update was OK, but now it is not opening - i let it to see how much it takes to be on... but i have already waited 2 hours and nothing. the 3 lights are on = home, menu and the arrow, but the screen appears to be off....
did anyone encountered this problem?

My update took about 20 to 30 minutes, for some time it looked the same dead (only 3 lights on) but it was just for few minutes... I have no more advice, sorry.

Hello Pixxx, when I updated my Streak I waited 15 to 20 minutes on boot. If your Streak is still on boot and wont go pass that, seems that u have some problem. Go to your carrier...

good morning,
it seems that only with reset to factory settings and installing an older version solved this problem!!
fisrt bad thing it happens with my Streak... good thing that i saved everything before updating....
i'll just wait and see if this is a problem only for me or there are also others encountering it.

Hi everyone,
I have Dell streak (Red) unlocked version.
Recently as you all know we received an update for android with version 2.2.2
I used OTA and downloaded the 193 mb file
After the download it was supposed to reboot however it got stuck at Dell logo.
So I just switched it off and switched it On and after 15 minutes everything was back to normal with the update.
What I have noticed is now the OS seems to be bit faster and the lag has reduced considerably.
I haven't tested the camera now but there have been few updates in software side too.
This update even helped my battery to last for nearly 12 to 13 hours after recharge (with wifi and account sync on)
I have around 207 applications installed on my Dell streak and yet I have smooth snappy performance
From the market please download ZD Tool box , Quick system info, spare parts, , they are very helpful and will allow you to take control
And of course you need to have super user rights and I dont know if this is the right place to talk about it but definitely that is another thing which will help your dell streak immensely.
I use Dell Streak every day and I am quiet happy with the performance.
IF for any reason you are unable to update it through OTA then you can download it on your computer , connect your dell streak , turn on USB storage and then place the .pkg file on your sdcard. when you reboot press and hold up and down volume buttons and then you will enter recovery mode.
There you can select the option "update from .pkg" and choose the file placed on your SD card.
Your update should start and complete within 15 min.
After everything is done perfectly till this step. Just switch off Dell streak and reboot. This should work
Only the first reboot took long and now it reboots very quickly in a minute or so.
