Memory Upgrade Issue
I purchased an XPS 730x a while back, and decided recently to upgrade my memory from the stock 6 g 1033mhz frequency to the corsair xms3 ddr3 1333mhz. Now mind you, I went online and used Dell's memory selector and it said my upgrade was compatible. Anyways, I went to install the ram, booted my computer back up and my computer turned on but never loaded anything. It was just a black screen and I could here the fan starting up fast and then getting slower and then it would go fast and then slow again, and it would repeat this over and over. I turned off my computer and installed the stock ram and before loading windows it said my computer failed to Overclock?! Is there a frequency setting I have to set in the BIOS?... Which brings up another issue...Why cant I overclock my XPS 730x through the BIOS? I'm supposed to be able to do this with this particular model...All the BIOS options for overclocking are locked rather aren't even there... Help would be greatly appreciated

If the CPU does not use 1333mhz by default then thats your answer.
Overclock capability is NOT guaranteed with ALL CPUS ALL THE TIME.
Going from 1066 to 1333 is a significant overclock.

The cpu is an i7 960 and the memory I purchased is recommended for that particular i7 series. Do I have to go into the BIOS and change some settings or something?
