It will install and run but there is no driver support for it from Dell.

The 745 is an older system that came out in the Win2k days and the only driver support is 2k, XP, and Vista

An additional question related to 745 and OS upgrade: Is it known yet whether or not Windows 10 will run on a 64-bit 745?  Windows 7 (Pro in my case) is not supported on it, but will run quite well.  Don't know if Windows 10 will or not.

I am not sure; it might.

Again, I am not sure.

You might want to run the MS Windows 8 upgrade assistant on your computer to find out what it reports. IF Windows 8 will run on the computer, there's a high probability that Windows 10 will too.

I installed Windows 10 on my OptiPlex 745 and it's been running just fine. I upgraded the installation to Windows 10 Pro, and again it has been running just fine. I am currently running Version 1607, Build 14393.105 (updated just this morning). Prior to installing Windows 10, I ran Windows 7 and Windows 7 Pro. I don't have many programs installed (basic Chrome, Office 2016, and printers). I also don't use it as my primary computer; I use it mostly as a back-up system and recreational web browsing.
