Anyone Haveing Extended Delays with "Next Business Day" Warranty Repairs???

Studio Laptop 1558 mysterously died - no power... went thru assisted troubleshooting.....technician dispatched but brought the wrong parts... second technician indicated he was unable to repair... shipped to depot... waiting on part with no estimated repair date.   Gone thru all the usual routing from one department to another.. requesting supervisor callbacks, etc.

basically "Next Business Day" has turned into "We Don't Know".

Is this common ???

Appears to be.

Ordered a XPS 17 on April 8th. Came in April 29th and wouldn't even turn on. Called tech same day and they said would ship out replacement " next business day"  they just can't tell when that will be. Had to call back on  May 3rd to ask what was going on. Told not to worry, my replacement would ship out "next  business day"  I said great when will it ship...........umm  we don't know. However they were nice enough to charge my Dell account for my nice $1500 door stop. I give them a week before I cancel the whole thing.

Good luck with your 1558.

There is probably a back order on a part, dell does not keep parts on hand, they never did.If the part is on back order and they can not get it,you can't get NBD onsite service without the parts. When the parts come in you WILL get NBD service though.I have in several instances, needed a repair with dell tech support and parts were not in stock, but i always recieved NBD service as soon as the part came in.
