Dell inspiron 15 wont start up

When I start up my laptop (im on my desktop right now) it goes past the loading sreen, and right before the screen where It shows my user accounts and I have to type in my password, a black screen shows up and nothing is there but my mouse. Pressing buttons doesn't do anything, i've tried restarting,diagnostics, but nothing seems to work. If anyone can help me in this situation it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
