Dell Vostro 430 keep dying

Bought Dell Vostro 430 in Sept 2011. This machine had massive failure of RAM, motherboard etc. After 4 weeks of arguing (I do have Next Business Day On Site warranty) Dell finally gave me a new machine because they couldn't get it fixed. Now this machine fails to boot except in Safe mode and for some reason it was not configured with System Restore, so I cannot rollback.

Any advice from users OR DELL on how I can get this fixed. I do not believe that this is software (haven't installed anything nor touched Windows 7 in months) yet Dell has stopped answered emails and will not honor their warranty.

Please tell me how Dell will address this issue. If there is a bad image on the computer it is Dell's fault, and I might add that this is the second time that this has happened. In the 6 months that I have owned this machine it has been "down" for over two months.

I HAVE run a full diagnostics and it comes up clean, but again the same diagnostics came up clean in Oct 2011 and it turned out that there was a bad motherboard. It will only run in Safe mode with networking. If I let it boot in regular mode it allows me to log in and the screen goes black and it hangs.

Hi,

Welcome to the community

I recommend that this computer should be restored to factory settings. Assuming there is no Hardware Problem the system could have a bad image on it.

Or you can try disabling some service and startup items. (within safe mode) then try restarting the computer to normal mode.

If you want to check Hardware functionality, run diagnostics (restart the computer, on dell logo keep tapping F12. then diagnostics)

Post back for error codes.

Hi,

I recommend you reinstall the Operating System, there are 2 ways;

- Factory Recovery via F8 (refer to previous post of Speedstep)

- Manual Reinstall (Using Disc)

I have been dealing with a problem computer for 18 months with parts failing, delayed service responses (I have NBD warranty) , missed services, service that is poorly;y performed and causes new failures and approx 100 hours of my time wasted. I have been purchasing Dell computers since 1999 and until this point I have been a big fan, but this is a major FAIL. I have tried to reach out to Dell Corporate and they now hide any phone numbers. Fedex letters to their corp office and legal dept go unanswered even when valid legal request is made.
