i was reading about using the f12 on boot up and restore PC to orginal state but lose all data, just back to the OS. Any idea if this will work with the HDD password lost. I don't care about the data I just want ot start fresh. Or wipeing and reloading OS from disk??????
so it is stored on the hdd and bios, thanks, On most start ups I get a black screen with boot failure hit f1 to try again or f2 for setup, it will almost always go into setup with f2, but with f1 it beeps and repeats the msg... thanks for you response

You can't. Not even Dell can do it.

It won't work until you remove the hard drive password, no.
