SCSI HARD Drive Problem

Question

Hi. I have a DELL Dimension PC ( will get the exact model no for next posting). It has a 2GB SCSI Hard Drive. It was on a Network using Novell, but WIN 98 was installed. This was not a clean install. i have now ran fdisk, Formatted the Drive ( uses 2047 GB) and ran scandisk several times. When I get to the setup.exe part, I get a message saying that setup needs the largest executable program to be at leaset 445000 bytes to run. if I try to boot from HD the message says there is no boot partition ( I have created a single FAT partition ). Have never had this problem on other PC's ( I'm a hobbyiest...looking after a friends PC ).I feel that I must be missing a step in the process. There are no errors on HD and i can see HD on boot up. I do not have the option to boot from CDROM at boot up or in setup. Help, please?   Thomas, Dublin, Ireland.

LVBRS, Thanks for using the Dell Community Forum. You might consider posting this in the Software section under Windows 98 also.
