Where to buy a CD/DVD drive for a Dell Dimension 3100c?
My DVD drive doesn't work anymore, I believe the lasers have gone so that is why it doesn't read the discs.
However it does read CD's so I assume the laser has only gone for the DVD drive.
Does Dell sell a CD/DVD drive?

Hi mboora,
It could be issue with firmware of CD/DVD drive of your computer as well. You may check the 'Device Manager' to check the model and make of CD/DVD by following the steps below:
You can provide me the model# and make of CD/DVD drive. You may also paste the screenshot of 'Device Manager' so that I can check if the firmware is available for that CD/DVD drive.
If you are certain and want to purchase the CD/DVD drive from Dell, you may contact the Dell Spare parts and Accessories department to know the availability and pricing details. In case the system is in US, you can contact Dell spares at: http://dell.to/PlvA9D
In case you belong to a different region, you can change your country from the drop down menu.
Log in to website and click on ‘Contact Dell Sales’. You will get the contact information to get in touch with Dell Spare Parts and Accessories department.

It's getting harder and harder to find parallel ATA writers (also known as EIDE), but they are still available.
