Well, I've finally managed to fix it. If someone ends up here with the same problem than me, this was my solution:

From the "Virtual Disk Mgmt." tab (VDM) go over the Disk Group entry in the tree menu.

Press F2 to see the options and select "Break Mirror" (say yes to confirm, no fear)

Then go into the individual physical disks, and do for each one: F2 + set as non-Raid

If one of those disks was the bootable one, remember to set it again as the bootable device on the "Control Mgmt" tab.

Hi Martindhu,

RAID 1 means you have essentially two separate drives with identical information. So breaking the RAID is simple. Boot to the Intel RAID Option Rom Utility (ctrl + I ), change both drives to NON-Member disks then reboot.  The 2nd drive will be assigned new drive letter, and you can reformat it using disk management, and have additional space.

Hi Osprey,

thanks for your reply. Actually I read something similar somewhere in the forum but I'm afraid that solution does not apply in my case.

My boot rom utility is not an Intel based, and I enter on it by pressing Ctrl+R but that's not what matters...

So, once I enter on the utility I have several tabs to navigate, and the two important (I believe) are Virtual Dsk. Mgmt (VDM) and Physical Dsk. Mgmt (PDM)

In the PDM tab my two identical disks appears. Up to here all ok.

In the VDM tab I read the following:

- PERC H310 Adapter (and some bus details)

   - Virtual Disks:

          ID: 0, 465.25 GB

   - Physical Disks:

          --:--:00  Online   465.25 GB

          --:--:01  Online   465.25 GB

   - Total free capacity

         ID: 0, 465.25 GB

Up to this point, I guess that I have to somehow break or remove the Virtual disk, but when I try to remove it, a message appears saying that all data will be erased, that scares me and then I don't confirm the operation. How should I proceed then?

You might want to check out one of the Server or Storage forums found in the drop-down menu above.  This page deals mostly with consumer machines.
