Hi Danielffs,

Inspiron 14z comes in two variants, Inspiron N411z and Inspiron 5423.

Please share the exact model.

Also, run the diagnostics. You may try any of the following methods to run the diagnostics:

  • Press and the power button to initiate diagnostics.

Or

  • Shut down and restart the computer.
  • Press the F12 key immediately when the Dell logo appears. The Boot Device list appears.
  • Select Diagnostics and press the Enter key.

If possible, provide a picture of the ‘Boot’ tab on the ‘BIOS’ screen.

On the DELL logo, hit the F2 key about 6-7 times.

Keep me posted with the information. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi Danielffs,

The settings are correct in the BIOS and also as the diagnostics passed, you may try restoring the system factory settings.

Before restoring the system, go to the BIOS screen and press F9 key to load defaults.

Once done, refer to the link below for the steps to restore the system to factory settings.

The link is http://dell.to/154u25A

To get to the ‘Troubleshoot’ screen follow the below steps and then continue from step 6 onward  to restore the system to factory settings.

  • Shut down and restart the computer
  • Power Off the system at Dell Logo with “rolling dots” at the bottom of the screen
  • Repeat steps 2-3 times so that it starts automatic repair
  • Let automatic repair finish and then click ‘Troubleshoot’

Note: The above steps delete any data on the system and re image the system to factory settings.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, you may have to re install the operating system using the discs.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.

Hi Danielffs,

Disable ‘Secure Boot’ option in the BIOS.

If the system is shipped with mSATA drive, make sure the ‘SATA Operations’ is set to ‘ISRT’ or ‘RAID’.

If there is no mSATA drive, the option should be set to ‘AHCI’.

The option for ‘SATA Operations’ is available in the 'Advanced Tab' on the BIOS screen.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist you further.
