Dell Venue 11 Pro (5130) External Display Not Stretching To Full Screen

On my Dell Venue 11 Pro (5130) when I connect an external display either via the the mini-HDMI on the device or via the Dock and HDMI port I cannot have the external display scale to full screen, when the external display is hooked up (both projector and LCD monitor) I cannot even get an option to scale to full screen. I have the latest Jan 30, 2014 drivers installed for the tablet, no improvement.

The attached images show the huge borders around the 1024x768 screen size, it is not possible to stretch this to full screen on the external display. I have tried multiple monitors and projectors and they all have the same issue. I have also tried to same displays with a Latitude 10 ST2 and it scaled correctly on the external displays automatically.

I am positive this is a driver issue and needs to be resolved quickly by Dell working with Intel. Most worrying is the attached distorted pic that shows a miscolored desktop with the screen cut off to the left, totally unusable.

I have not been able to test the DisplayPort on the dock, as there is an on going technical problem with this dock that is mentioned on this community.

Hi Adriana,

Thanks for the reply, I will try it using A07 BIOS tomorrow. There is an issue with the dock for sure.

Thanks, Luke

Perfect.  Let me know how it goes!

Installed A07, no change. The same problem exists. Any resolution less than the default 1920x1080 appears inside borders, so the actual application is not full screen on the external LCD or Projector.

This is a real big problem for schools who use their tablet with interactive whiteboard, the application appears tiny, especially if it is a 640x480, or 800x600, or 1024x768 application.

Has Dell reported this issue to Intel so that a driver can be changed to correct the issue? External displays work perfectly with the previous tablet the Latitude 10 ST2e when connected to an external display, but the Venue 11 does not.

Thank you for your feedback.  We actually have a team at Intel this week.  I have asked them to discuss this issue with them.

Fantastic, that would be great as it's a big issue for us.

Hi Luke,

I have not forgotten about your issue.  Can you send me a list of monitor model/cables/dongles/projector model that you are using?

Thanks!

Adriana

Thanks for the reply Adriana,

We are still experiencing issues with the Venue 11 Pro (5130) and external displays/projectors. I will send on details later today,

Luke
