Yes, that drive will fit and is compatible. Your laptop has the old SATA I controller so it's not going to run at its rated speed but should still be an improvement.
So even if that HD that I want to buy has the following specs, I can install it on my Lat 830 and can be recognized by old SATA controller. Is it correct ?

SATA III drives are supposed to be backward compatible but you should inquire with Seagate to be sure.
