Dell Latitude D830

Dell Latitude D830 has yellow markings on screen. Mouse leaves yellow trailings when moving mouse. Yellow trailings stay on screen.

Neither display adapter driver from Dell website work. Intel says wrong system, and Nvidia crashes the screens output to a bunch rectangular boxes.

Everest won't identify the adapter, how do i find right driver?

Cant get external to display either.

Hi superjimmy,

Good work on troubleshooting. There seems to be problem with the LCD screen on your computer to confirm we will have to perform the ‘LCD BIST’ (Built in Self-test) on the computer. Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD BIST’.

  1. Turn of the computer.
  2. Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button.
  3. You will see different colors on the LCD screen. Please check if still the issue reoccurs.

If you still see the yellow colors on the screen while the LCD bist is running you will have to replace the LCD.

Also, please connect an external display to check if issue reoccurs.

In addition, I would suggest you to reinstall the video card drivers on the system. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the OS, then download the video card driver from Video section onto the system and install it.
