Replacing T410 Raid 5 SAS HD showing 'predictive failure reporting'

I have a T410 poweredge server that has 2 virtual disks, one Raid 1 mirrored VD and one Raid 5 VD (consists of 4 146gb SAS hard drives).  There are no hot swap spares.  The physical disk 1:0:5 has started showing 'predictive failure reporting (error 2094) in OMSA so I know I need to replace that disk.  The drives i believe are hot swappable but I want to make sure I follow the correct procedure in replacing the drive, as I've never done this before.  Can someone please confirm for me the steps below are correct?

In OMSA, I go to 'Storage'-'Virtual Disks'-'Physical Disks' and on drive 5 (the one with the failure predicted) select 'Offline' under 'Tasks' then hit execute.  Next, I open the front bezel and wait for the hard drives lights to stop blinking.  Remove drive 1:0:5 and put in the replacement drive.  Then, in OMSA go to 'Storage'-'Virtual Disks' and select 'Assign/Unassign Dedicated Hot Spare' in the Tasks drop down and hit 'Execute'.  From what I've read, the drive should automatically begin rebuilding at that point and that should be all there is to it, correct?  If I missed anything or have anything listed wrong, someone please let me know.  I've read in other posts of people getting BSOD and crashing there servers because they messed something up, and I really want to avoid that.

Also, this swap can and should occur while the server is online, correct?

Which RAID controller do you have?  A BSOD is NOT normal and indicates some other problem.

If the drive does not begin rebuilding automatically, you will need to assign it to be a hot-spare to start the rebuild.  If the disk shows initially as "foreign", it must first be CLEARED before you can assign it as a hot-spare.

Its a PERC 6/i controller.  Where would I 'Clear' the drive if that is necessary?

In OMSA - Storage, PERC, Information/Configuration (link at top of page), Foreign/Clear from dropdown menu of Available Tasks for the controller.

Got it, thanks.  I see where that is, I assume 'Foreign/Clear' would only be in the dropdown if the disk were marked as foreign, as its not a current option.  So I do that if needed, and then go to 'Storage'-Virtual Disks' and select 'assign/unassign hot spare' if need be, and the rebuild should start, and that's basically it?  And this should be done hot/while the system is powered up right?

Yes. Right - never power down a system to replace a hot-swappable drive.
