Is there an equivalent of PocketCloud for Windows?

Is there an equivalent of PocketCloud for Windows?

I'm boggled by all the products on the website. I've been using PocketCloud on my iPad to do remote admin work on various windows machines and love the fact I can connect to them without having to deal with VPN or NAT.

For the PC, I've been using Microsoft Remote Desktop Manager, but I have to set up NAT rules for each machine I want to get to, or use a VPN. I'd love to have the same ability on a desktop as I do on an iPad.

Does Wyse offer a product that allows this? I'm an independent IT consultant supporting a dozen businesses, so I don't want to have to build some sort of complex infrastructure for some Enterprise type solution at each site, all I'm looking for is to be able to do from a Windows PC what I can do from my iPad without having to install anything further on each client PC than the Wyse client that is already installed.

Thanks!

Please don't just do a network driver

I've been reading this thread, and I want to emphasize that I too want a pocketcloud style client application running on Windows and MAC. I use the auto discovery extensively to access different servers and desktops in my home lab, and just having an rdp client I don't think will be nearly as useful. At home I don't have a static IP, and the auto discovery works wonderfully. I often use my home lab to demo product and technology to customers. I use the ipad pocketcloud all the time, but sometimes if I'm sitting at a desk (not traveling) I could be a lot more productive on a full fledged client PC.

Thanks

Thanks! Using the link, I had to request access to the document on Google Docs. I just now sent the request.

Hi,

Please consider a windows and linux version of remote access to the pocketcloud companions...

As mentioned above a full implementation. I guess the product name would be something like desktopcloud with a win and linux version...

Please sign me up as a beta tester... maybe take a poll?

Thx

Frank

OK, one more attempt. Right now wyse has a technology that nobody else has that I'm aware of. RDP normally cannot traverse a firewall or NAT without VPN or setting up a NAT rule to forward port 3389. Wyse has created something to get around that limitation.

Rather than just write a Windows RDP client that mimics the behavior of the ipad client, I'm suggesting don't write a windows RDP client at all, just write a windows RDP network driver that intercepts requests from existing RDP clients written by 3rd parties and reroute that traffic through your firewall traversing technology.

The trick to that is how to map clients behind a firewall to the entry in the RDP client.... haven't figured out that part yet, but that's Wyse' job, not mine  . I think building something like this would be more useful than just building your own RDP client.... but I'd take that too if my idea is too complex  .

I am also interested in a desktop version of the client. Please sign me up for a Beta if you need additional testers prior to a product release.
