XPS 13 & Sputnik Mailing List?
Hi all,
I am very excited for the Sputnik release on the newest XPS 13! I love that Dell is giving so much attention to Linux.
I want to vote with my wallet on this, and I can't wait. Is there any sort of mailing list or notification I could subscribe to? I would like to order as soon as the XPS 13 Sputnik is available!

Hey Seattlechaz,
Sorry for the vagueness but we have run into a few bugs as we have gone along and as a result, "soon" has been more like "not so soon".
I have been posting the latest updates on my blog as we know them and hoping to launch as soon as we can. :)

Hi Barton,
Hmm, in another post a week ago you said you were thinking a few weeks. You're saying this is not the case anymore?
I'd appreciate it if you could clarify 1) whether the Linux version will have the same hardware specs as the Windows version, and 2) will you provide a Dell Ubuntu ISO that we can use on a Windows XPS, essentially making the same sputnik machine?

Appreciate the effort, but it is getting a bit annoying to be honest when you guys can't give us a deadline. Being stuck with a machine for months that hinder me from getting stuff done every day I'm getting one day closer to buying a Len... that other vendors thin laptop and again probably having to use two days of my life cramming linux into it.

gjkd, let's give the team some slack, hmm? They're not delaying release on purpose. The more people support the developer edition, the more man-hours Dell will provide to Ubuntu laptops in the future. You can't have everything perfect from the start.
